Editing Solutions: Three Levels of Editing

 Basic Editing: Corrections of punctuation and spelling, grammatical mistakes like sentence fragmentation and errors in subject-verb agreement.
 
Copy Editing:
Correction of spelling errors, grammar, punctuation, mismatch in tenses; addressing parallelisms, use of sexist, racist, and other inappropriate language; identification of inappropriate figures of speech, changing passive voice to active voice where appropriate; and developing a consistent style and tone.
 
Substantive Editing: All tasks of copyediting; in addition, attention to the structure, organization, and concepts, as well as ensuring an appropriate pace, uniform tone, and clear focus; eliminating wordiness, triteness, and inappropriate jargon; improving flow; positioning sentences to improve readability.

Overview of key language and grammar issues: This will include grammar and writing exercises to gauge language skills and competencies of the team.

 

Individual Mentoring


This will help each team member to identify and fix weak areas and strengthen skills and competencies. The team will learn to objectively edit their own written work and avoid common language flaws such as article errors, subject-verb mismatch, preposition and punctuation issues. They will be able to eliminate redundancies and repetitions, and learn the correct use of US or UK English. 
 

The training will emphasize key editing aspects that will help in writing concise, crisp and meaningful copy.

 

The training will help the team to polish language and communication skills to produce better documents, articles, white papers, brochures, even emails.

 

The training can consist of multiple mentoring sessions with different individuals.

The duration of the training is need-based, ranging from one month to six months.
